My home – new collage + DIY tip

Stilleben from a window in my apartment. It's been a couple of weeks since I made and added this little A3 collage to my growing collection of collages to decorate the walls in my home. Making collages is a great, easy and very cheap way to bring some color to your home, especially if you don't want your home to look like everyone else's.

If you like me, enjoy taking some time out and use your hands to create, it's a perfect DIY-project. All you need is some magazines and a big paper as a background – then make an overall color scheme of colors you like and match, cut out shapes and colors (avoid text and faces (unless you like a more sketchbook-moodboard'ish look) and create various shapes – use some time to place the cutouts until you like it – finally glue all the pieces together and onto the paper – put it in a frame and VOILA! The good thing about is, that if you get tired of your self-made "art-piece", you can always throw it away (since it didn't really cost you any money) – or maybe pass it on to someone who needs something for their walls as well. Enjoy!

'My Scandinavian Home' and my diamant posters

I just came by one of my favorite blogs "My scandinavian home" by swedish Niki, and love how she has styled her home with the Diamant & Diamant pattern posters from my webshop. I think that both the more graphic setup in the office (with the diamant pattern poster in the right top corner) and the more nature-ish feel from her living room is so cool!

Have a look at Nikis blog here and have a look at my webshop KATHAPULT DESIGNSHOP if you would like a poster to decorate your home too!

&otherstories

So, last week I finally got to fo visit the store everyone's been talking about lately – & other stories – and I loved it! Besides a lot of cool, nordic and very minimalistic clothes and accessories they also have a wide (I really mean WIDE) range of beauty products with the most amazing packaging design! I wanted to buy every single product from all the collections, but ended up with these two – a lovely Fig body scrub and a Cherry body lotion, both in amazing "I-want-to-eat-you" pastel colors! Visit the store in real life or online HERE (if you dare!). The concept and the atmosphere of the brand is amazing!

KNIT PATTERN POSTCARDS

With inspiration in traditional knitting-patterns I've made this set of 3 knit pattern postcards, to use for both decoration and as a card to write on. Personally I like giving a nice card when I give someone a present, and I think this black/white set will go well with a lot of different giftwrapping paper – maybe in some beautiful pastel colors? They're coming in the shop soon so stay tuned!

Some time ago I made this illustration (now named Flying city) - and now when I've opened my new webshop I'm considering producing and selling this as well...
