And something blue...

...no not wedding-related, but just a small still from my bedroom with my Hay Loop stand and my lovely cobalt blue dress from Topshop bringing some color to the room.

3 x black items for my home office

A small collage wishlist of 3 different things I want for my home office right now – and they all happen to be black.

 1. Beautiful and elegant "Mantis" wall lamp from DCW, designed by Bernard Schottlander back in 1951.
 2. Simple and clean cut chair from Bolia in the nicest black wood material.
 3. Black tape to hang up posters and postcards

Bathroom / L:A Bruket

My bathroom has grown up – or at least it's on it's way to get a more mature look! Yesterday I bought this lovely handsoap from the swedish brand L:A Bruket who make handmade and ecological soap and spa products in the loveliest packaging. I like the very natural/rustic look of their products, and since I've only used black and white materials/colors in my bathroom, this single product gives my bathroom a totally different look. In Denmark you can buy their products in &otherstories or else go visit their website HERE.
The last picture I took (iPhone) is from their stand in &otherstories copenhagen with a range of their products. Lovely!

Magic

Do you believe!?
Quote of the day, graphic by me.

Currently...

... working a lot and trying to plan out my days with this lovely notebook from MoMa, bought a while ago in NYC! (comes in a pack with a black one too).
I've also had the time to do some shopping this weekend, including these two lovely blouses from "Storm & Marie" and "Club Monaco". I've read a lot of great things about the new Facial Scrub Mask from Rudolph Care – and besides the lovely packaging, I really must admit that the product is really amazing! – and I love how it's both a scrub and a mask at the same time (a great time saver!). Definitely recommendable! White Kubus candleholder from byLassen.

Bloomingville autumn/winter 13

Love the colors and styling of danish interior brand Bloomingville and their autumn/winter lookbook 2013. I'm strongly considering to paint a wall in this lovely pink color in my apartment... Also the color combination in the last picture is a great contrast to the the very pastel and feminine universe. See the catalogue HERE

Interior editorial of my home in Alt for Damerne

My apartment is featured in the latest edition of the danish womens magazine Alt for Damerne, with an interior editorial styled and photographed by Sine Grenaa and Lasse Dencker.
I think the pictures turned out great and even though (and of course) not all the great pictures (ex from my kitchen and a bit more of my office) where chosen, I think this small editorial shows a great view of the overall look in my apartment, and it's definitely been a fun experience. (Even though I must admit that it's a bit weird to see yourself in a magazine.) Thanks to Sine and Lasse for the great work.

Photo love: Jeanloup Sieff

Today I'm totally in love with the iconic work of photographer Jeanloup Sieff. He has a lot of other great photographs to indulge in as well, so go google his name and see all of his great work!
(and aren't those two girls on the first picture the cutest!?)

&tradition in my livingroom

Pictures from my livingroom today! It was love at first sight the first time I laid my eyes on these dark grey "spinning light" lamps from danish &Tradition, now hanging over my grey Hay tray tables in my living room.

2 YEAR STATUS... and now what?

Today I can celebrate two years of being self-employed. It's been two years since the day I left my old job and started up on my own! I can't believe that time has gone by so fast, but then again, a lot of different things have happened during these years. Great new acquaintances, new clients, new things in my portfolio and a lot of new experiences. Lately I've been spending a lot of time trying to make a status of the last year or two whilst trying to figure out what is gonna happen next. Which move should be my next, what do I really want to do with this (both career-wise but also in a bigger perspective) and in the end, but most importantly, what will make me HAPPY. Not that I'm not happy – I am! – and more, but I would also like to keep growing. One thing is to have an idea of what your perfect life may look like, but another thing is, what it actually feels like, when all your expectations and goals have been reached.
I feel very satisfied with where I am now and how I've spent my last years, but at the same time I have to set new goals in order to keep my motivation at the top! Searching for the next mountain to climb and a way to keep getting better at the things I love doing.

Maybe it's my age, maybe it's just me, but what about you – do any of you recognize these thoughts? And what do you do about them? Which active steps do you take in order to grow and set new goals for yourself?
