Back at the office

After sometime away from the blog and the best getaway at Mauritius, I'm back at the office and back to work!

Love the table and cool calmness of the photo above from the GamFratesi collaboration with Lightyears, promoting their lamp Volume.

My home – New livingroom

Finally some new photos of our new sofa in a corner of our "new" livingroom. Since moving together with my boyfriend 6 months ago, all the rooms in our apartment have been changed around and everything has been moved to a new place.
I'm in a more "simple" period in terms of decorating, but do feel that the sofa needs some more color added – currently I'm on the look for old Kelim pillows in some dusted, yet fresh colors!

(and yes – Elliot insisted on being in one of the photos, since he feels that it's his home too!
Well, all right then, Elliot!)

Friday moodboard

Todays moodboard mix. There's something very intriguing about the self service cover! And I love the simplicity of the apartment in the middle, as much as I would love to wear the super simple but amazing Celine stilettos. Last I really think the calender from Julia Kostreva is so cool – I would absolutely love to own that!

2014 – new year

2014. A new year. Myself, I haven't really made any new years resolutions but instead I've decided that the key word for my 2014 is going to be "courage". Courage to dream bigger and courage to pursue all the things I really wish for myself, but for some reason haven't yet dared to do. So with the words of H. Jackson Brown Jr., I will end this post wishing all of you the best of 2014 – may you too have the courage to do the things you really want to!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

My homeoffice – a small glimpse

A small glimpse of a corner in my home office. The picture in the background is of my sister who was in an alternative fashion show at the Royal Danish Theatre some years ago during Copenhagen Fashion week, as a balletdancer starring in a show by danish art/fashion brand Moonspoon Saloon. The small drawer with glass fronts is an old vintage kitchen drawer from my grandmother.

My home – new collage + DIY tip

Stilleben from a window in my apartment. It's been a couple of weeks since I made and added this little A3 collage to my growing collection of collages to decorate the walls in my home. Making collages is a great, easy and very cheap way to bring some color to your home, especially if you don't want your home to look like everyone else's.

If you like me, enjoy taking some time out and use your hands to create, it's a perfect DIY-project. All you need is some magazines and a big paper as a background – then make an overall color scheme of colors you like and match, cut out shapes and colors (avoid text and faces (unless you like a more sketchbook-moodboard'ish look) and create various shapes – use some time to place the cutouts until you like it – finally glue all the pieces together and onto the paper – put it in a frame and VOILA! The good thing about is, that if you get tired of your self-made "art-piece", you can always throw it away (since it didn't really cost you any money) – or maybe pass it on to someone who needs something for their walls as well. Enjoy!

'My Scandinavian Home' and my diamant posters

I just came by one of my favorite blogs "My scandinavian home" by swedish Niki, and love how she has styled her home with the Diamant & Diamant pattern posters from my webshop. I think that both the more graphic setup in the office (with the diamant pattern poster in the right top corner) and the more nature-ish feel from her living room is so cool!

Have a look at Nikis blog here and have a look at my webshop KATHAPULT DESIGNSHOP if you would like a poster to decorate your home too!

Ole Jensen for Room Copenhagen

Previous week I went to the launch of a new collaboration between danish ceramicist and product designer Ole Jensen and upcoming new danish brand Room Copenhagen. The collection consist of products for storage, cooking and serving and I had the chance to bring home some of the products. I really think the color scheme is so fresh and yet I love that I'm able to combine them with a lot of the things I already have in my own small collection of kitchenware. Especially I love the baby-blue colored jug and the shiny yellow juicer! The collection also have lovely and practical bowls in different sizes and colors, as well as cups, plates and various kitchen tools!
